Writing Prompt: Beast
Follow along each week for a 50-word Fantasy writing prompt and comment your own responses!
Special Rule: This week, try to make it HORROR.
It’s coming . . . I can feel it.
The floorboards groaned beneath its heft, nearly masking the blood dripping from the beast’s maw. I could still hear my friend’s whimpers of agony as he was dragged along the floor like a wet cloth.
Oh, gods, no . . . It’s here!
I could only wait.

So,
You write the prompt and we carry on with our own or build on yours?
And what we write is 50 words to add to your 50 words?
It all sounds like fun, but I want to get it right!
Hey Robert! You can write your own response based on the chosen word for the week (prompts are every Thursday), it does not need to add on the mine or any others – unless that’s what you’d like to do. Sometimes there are special rules, such as this week responses need to be Fantasy and Horror!
Here is the list of all prompts that have been posted so far: https://bernardbertram.com/table-of-contents-writing-prompts/ Feel free to use any prompts you wish to help motivate you to write!
I shifted my position in an attempt to remain hidden, whilst trying not to rattle my chains and attract the monster’s attention.
I heard another whimper, followed by what sounded like a body tumbling to the floor. I tried my best to peek around the beam I was chained to.
Excellent addition!
Thanks! I thought we were supposed to add onto yours, next time I think I’ll branch off and create my own limb!
No worries! Either way is fine, really. Whatever you would prefer to do works for me!
